Problematika Kekuatan Politik Islam di Arab Saudi, Kuwait, dan Uni Emirat Arab

Abstract

Politik Islam memiliki pengaruh yang sangat kuat pada pasang surut pergolakan politik di Arab Saudi, Kuwait, dan Uni Emirat Arab.Perang Teluk 1991 menjadi katalis terjadinya perubahan dalam kebijakan, baik internal maupun eksternal. Di Arab Saudi gerakan protes kelompok Islam dan para pendukung mereka yang anti liberal, terjadi selama dan setelah perang, yang menuntut perubahan. Sementara di Kuwait, pemerintah monarki pergerakan kelompok oposisi. Terbentuknya kelompokICMyang bersikap oposisi terhadap pemerintah, telah menarik IM dalam pusaran konflik politik untuk melakukan reformasi. Hal ini yang menjadi tantangan bagiICMuntuk memperoleh pengaruh politik yang lebih luas dalam konstelasi politik di Kuwait. Sementara di Uni Emirat Arab, pemerintah memandang kelompok oposisi sebagai ancaman keamanan nasional dan bersikap represif. Berbagai aktivitas politik Islam di Arab Saudi, Kuwait, dan Uni Emirat Arab akan menjadi fokus kajian dalam penelitian ini.
